1979: Parker Rossman & Antony Grey meet & correspond

Screen Shot 2015-03-03 at 10.30.11 In July 1979 Parker Rossman had returned home from a recent trip to London having met Grey while there and was full of news on his publishing successes and future plans in his evangelical fervour for preaching the benefits of paedophilia to society.

 

8 years previously George Parker Rossman had been indicted with Dr Morris Fraser for his involvement in the Long Island network of abusers uncovered in 1971.

In 1969 Parker Rossman (writing as Jonathan Drake) with Dennis Drew had published Boys for Sale: A Sociological Study of Boy Prostitution (New York,1969)

In the same year Parker Rossman published his study of boy prostitution in New York, Mervyn Harris, a South African journalist is in the UK studying boy prostitution in London, Piccadilly Circus and writes his book ‘The Dilly Boys’ – blog post on the background to this book here

During that year Dr Morris had received his Diploma in Engineering and in the summer starts treating children amongst The Troubles in Northern Ireland according to 20 September 1974: For Ulster’s Children: A World of Violence, hate [The Dispatch, Lexington, NC]

Christianity Today, America’s fundamentalist magazine recommended Parker Rossman’s book along with Robin Lloyd’s Playland [see further info from this book in blog post: Charles Napier and Sir Harold Haywood working together at Earl’s Court]

Parker Rossman hopes to meet Grey again if he returns to London and proposes a:

‘circle of correspondents who might like to exchange some serious views — perhaps even small papers — on this topic. You might let me know if you find some people who might be interested.’

He hopes the group might correspond on sex education and appreciated seeing the film strip in London.

Grey had departed from Albany Trust mid-1977 and in 1978 had accepted Nettie Pollard’s invitation to join the NCCL following his statements at a recent NCCL conference

“At this moment, we have some very involved and interesting work being done on the Child Protection Bill. What will come of that remains to be seen.”

Within a month (either before or after) of this letter PIE published Paedophilia: Some Questions and Answers which had been co-drafted by PIE and the Albany Trust under Sir Harold Haywood’s chairmanship 1975-1977.
